Hannah came from a grammar school in Merseyside and had always wanted to go to a boarding school. One of her main interests was trying new things, so outside the world of sport (Hannah enjoyed rollerblading, skiing, climbing, swimming, and trampolining), this was just the ticket for her.

She had a love for English language, literature and history, so much so that she knew (even at that point) that she wanted to do a joint degree in history and English literature after she had just taken her GCSEs! She claimed she was not scared to stand up for her own opinions and that she always did so with tact and diplomacy. In spite of that, her application form showed that she regarded herself as both "argumentative" and "boisterous". She planned, when she finished her degree, to become either a human rights barrister or to go into politics and become the Prime Minister. Obviously.
