Frances
Weaver
Frances came from a girls'
grammar school in Essex and adored music and Latin lessons there. She loved
spending time with her friends in the outside world: going out at weekends,
watching films and the like. Her ambition was to become really rich, something
which probably hasn't changed much in the past few years.
Frances entered Kings a
self-confessed "cocky, bitchy, lazy and sarcastic" girl whose mother
would enjoy watching her "getting her comeuppance after all the
years". She also called herself (which have been put into contrasting
pairs) shy, talkative; quiet, lively; lazy and enthusiastic. An interesting mix
of qualities, I'm sure you'll agree.
Although running was listed as
one of her favourite sports, she dreaded the prospect of cross-country runs at
Kings. Another interesting contrast there. Nevertheless, Frances really enjoyed
her time at the school and vowed never to forget the pupils or the teachers, or
even the little things like singing songs and sewing. She did, however, draw the
line when it came to missing the smell of Spam fritters and BO.
